Terms of Service
These terms explain the rules for using the Lockwatch Android app and its optional Premium features.
What the app does
Lockwatch is an Android app that can detect certain failed screen unlock attempts and, when configured, capture and send an alert with available evidence. Premium adds features described in the app and on Google Play. Features depend on your device, Android version, permissions, settings, connectivity and third-party services.
Lockwatch is an additional security aid, not a guaranteed theft-prevention, tracking, recovery or emergency service. Android may restrict background camera or location access, and alerts may be delayed, incomplete or not delivered. Keep your device secure and use other appropriate protection and recovery options.
Your responsibilities
Use Lockwatch only on a device you own or are authorised to administer. Tell other users of a device about monitoring where required by law, and use captured information lawfully. You are responsible for your device settings, permissions, alert email address, internet access and keeping access to your email account secure.
Do not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, or use it to monitor, harass or unlawfully collect information about another person.
Premium subscriptions
Premium is an optional subscription purchased through Google Play. The price, billing period, trial (if any) and renewal terms are shown by Google Play before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Google Play before the renewal date. Google Play manages billing, cancellation and refund requests, subject to your statutory rights.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. You can manage or cancel it in your Google Play account. Any trial or introductory offer converts to a paid subscription only on the terms shown at checkout.
Consumer rights and cancellation
If you are a consumer, mandatory rights under the laws that apply to you remain in force. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights relating to digital content or services that do not conform to the contract.
Depending on where you live and how the subscription is supplied, you may have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase. Any exception for digital content supplied immediately applies only where the required express consent and acknowledgement were obtained during checkout. Check the information shown by Google Play when you purchase and contact us if you need help exercising a right.
Availability, changes and ending use
We may update or discontinue features to maintain or improve the app, address security or legal requirements, or respond to changes in Android and third-party services. We will provide updates where required by law. You can stop using Lockwatch at any time; uninstalling it does not itself cancel a Google Play subscription.
We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks or legal requirements. This does not remove any consumer rights you have.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including loss caused by a device being stolen, an alert not being captured or delivered, or evidence being unavailable. We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights.
